Dirty Fries
Dirty fries are called dirty for a reason, and STACKED Hot Honey Mustard just made them completely unfit for polite company in the best possible way.
Seasoned fries. Two kinds of melted cheese. Sautéed peppers and onions. Jalapeño slices. And a hot honey mustard situation that has no interest in being reasonable.
Using fresh potatoes? Soaking the cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes first makes them crispier. Short on time, frozen fries work too.
Warning
- Soaking cut fries in cold water before baking removes surface starch, and it's the difference between a fry that crisps and one that goes limp under the toppings. Nobody wants that.
- Two kinds of cheese is not excessive when one melts smooth and one pulls, and both are happening simultaneously on top of seasoned fries.
- Caramelized peppers and onions on top of melted cheese on top of crispy fries is a layered situation that rewards people who build it all the way and punishes people who rush any step.
- STACKED Hot Honey Mustard has sweet and heat and tang all in one pour, and it does the job of three sauces without requiring three separate bowls.
- Dirty fries served immediately means crispy fries. Dirty fries served five minutes later means a different and lesser experience. Move fast.
